Etude house shini star bb lotion review

Etude House Shini Star limited edition range was promoted by Korean boyband Shinee (You can say they are the one direction of Korea) in late 2011/early 2012. I bought the tinted lip balms which you can peruse here and 2 more colours are still up for review.

Being a sucker for Shinee and bb cream, I had to try out their Shini Star bb lotion. The BB lotion claims to promote moisture and brigthen the skin to enhance the natural complexion. The use of oatmeal formula soothes, softens and promotes healthy tissue growth.

Shini Star bb lotion notes

  • One shade
  • SPF 20/PA++
  • Whitening
  • 30 grams and lasts for 18months upon opening
  • 4 free - no parabens, ethanol, mineral oil or benzophenones.
Directions on box : Apply bb lotion to all areas of the face and pat to finish.

I have about NC20, yellow undertone skin. It is dry to normal with redness around the nose and freckles. The lotion evens skin tone, reduces red areas and dark eye circles. Makes my freckles less noticeable but still visible. Brightens and whitens as claimed. Goes on like a lotion would but settles with a matte finish. With a name like "shini star" you would assume a dewy look. There is a faint scent that reminds me of baby lotion or shampoo. It does make the skin feel slightly softer but nothing to write home about. Lasts for 4-5 hours.The use of a pump nozzle is hygienic.

Overall, it's a good sheer cover bb lotion with a matte finish. I would use it for lazy days and casual outings. Would not recommend this if you want full coverage for trouble spots or for girls with darker complexions.

You can read my thoughts on bb cream in general here. Again, I'll sign off with a shinee related video. A live performance this time!

xoxo

  2. I've been thinking of getting this for a while, and apparently it's 'limited edition', so just incase it isn't a permanent product, I think I might get it soon! Thanks for the review!
